Gela Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 4, 2026

Application: Gela - Live Your Global Moment

1. Introduction and Scope

Welcome to Gela: Live Your Global Moment ("Gela", "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), a live-streaming social community operated by our team to connect users around the world through real-time video, chat, and interactive content. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you access or use the Gela mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services").

This Policy applies to all users of Gela worldwide. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, you should not use the App.

Gela is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. Please review the "Children's Privacy and Protection Against CSAE" section below for additional information regarding our commitment to preventing underage access and protecting minors.

2. Effective Date and Acceptance

This Policy is effective as of August 4, 2026 and applies to all information collected on or after that date. Your continued use of Gela after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the terms described herein.

If we make material changes to this Policy, we will provide notice through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically so that you remain informed about how we handle your information.

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your renewed consent before applying materially changed terms to previously collected information.

3. Age Eligibility Requirement

Gela is designed and offered exclusively to individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly permit individuals under the age of 18 to create an account or use the Services.

During account registration, users are required to confirm that they are 18 years of age or older before gaining access to the App.

We employ Age Assurance and In-App Parental Control features, described further in the section titled "Age Assurance and In-App Controls," to help verify eligibility and restrict underage access.

Accounts that are found or reasonably suspected to belong to individuals under 18 will be suspended or terminated, and associated data will be deleted in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

We reserve the right to request additional verification information from any user where we have reason to believe the stated age is inaccurate.

4. Information You Provide to Us

When you register for and use Gela, you may voluntarily provide certain information directly to us. This information is necessary to create your account, personalize your experience, and enable core features of the App.

Account registration details, including username, password (stored in encrypted form), email address, and phone number where applicable.

Profile information, such as your display name, avatar or profile photo, biography, gender, and country or region.

Content that you create, upload, or share, including live streams, recorded video clips, photographs, audio messages, text posts, comments, and virtual gifts.

Communications you send to us, including customer support inquiries, survey responses, and feedback submitted through the App.

Identity verification information you choose to submit for account verification, creator eligibility, or dispute-resolution purposes.

5. Information We Collect Automatically

We automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you interact with Gela. This information helps us operate, secure, and improve the Services.

Device information, including device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, hardware settings, and mobile network information.

Log and usage data, such as app features used, session duration, timestamps, crash reports, referring pages, and interactions with content or other users.

IP address and approximate network location derived from your internet connection, used for security, fraud prevention, and content localization.

Precise location data, collected only if you grant location permission through your device settings, and used for features such as nearby-broadcaster discovery.

Technical metadata attached to uploaded content, such as file format, resolution, and upload timestamp.

6. Facial Data and Real-Person (Liveness) Verification

Gela uses certain facial-analysis technology solely to perform real-person (liveness) verification, confirming that an account is operated by a genuine, physically present human being rather than a bot, a static photograph, or a spoofed or synthetic image. This verification helps protect the Gela community from fake accounts, impersonation, and fraudulent activity. We take the handling of facial data seriously and have designed our processing to minimize privacy risk to the greatest extent possible.

Purpose: facial data is captured and analyzed solely to perform real-person (liveness) verification, one time, during account registration, in order to confirm that the account is operated by a genuine, physically present individual. It is not used for any other purpose, such as advertising, profiling, filters/effects, or content recommendation, and is not repeated after successful completion.

Verification process: to complete verification, a user provides (a) a photo of themselves, which may be selected from the device photo library or captured via the camera, and (b) a live photo captured directly through the device camera at the time of verification. These two images are compared on-device to perform liveness detection and confirm that the account belongs to a real, present individual.

On-device processing, no upload: both the submitted photo and the live camera capture are processed entirely on-device, using the local processing capabilities of the user's mobile device. Gela does not use any third-party software development kit (SDK) to process, analyze, or transmit facial data, and neither image is uploaded to or stored on Gela's servers or any third-party server.

Immediate deletion: both images are discarded immediately from device memory once the on-device verification result (pass or fail) is produced. No facial image, video frame, or biometric template is retained on the device or transmitted elsewhere.

Verification status only: because raw facial data and images are never persisted or uploaded, there is no facial data to delete. Only the resulting verification status (a simple pass/fail flag, not biometric data) is stored on our servers to indicate that an account has successfully completed real-person verification. Once verification is successful, the user is not required to re-verify again.

No third-party sharing: facial data and the images used for verification are never shared with any third party, advertiser, or affiliate, and are never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the one-time real-person verification described above.

7. Information from Linked Third-Party Accounts

If you choose to register for or log into Gela using a third-party account (such as Apple, Google, or Facebook), we may receive certain information from that provider, subject to your permissions and the third party's own privacy practices.

Basic profile information such as your name, email address, and unique account identifier.

Authentication tokens used solely to facilitate login and account synchronization.

We do not receive your password or login credentials for the linked third-party service.

You may disconnect a linked third-party account at any time through your Gela account settings.

8. Payment and Virtual Gifting Information

Gela offers in-app purchases, virtual currency, and virtual gifting features. Certain payment-related information is necessary to process these transactions.

Transaction records, including purchase history, virtual currency balances, and gifting activity within the App.

Payment processing is handled by the applicable app store (such as the Apple App Store) or a contracted third-party payment processor; Gela does not directly collect or store full payment card numbers.

We may retain limited billing metadata, such as transaction identifiers and purchase timestamps, for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.

9. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following business and operational purposes, consistent with the purposes for which it was collected:

To create and administer your account, authenticate your identity, and provide access to core App features including live streaming, chat, and content sharing.

To process in-app purchases, virtual gifting, and other digital transactions.

To operate and enforce Age Assurance and In-App Parental Control features described in this Policy.

To personalize your experience, including content recommendations, discovery feeds, and creator suggestions based on your usage patterns and preferences.

To communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, support requests, and, where you have opted in, promotional messages.

To monitor, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, and violations of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

To analyze aggregated usage trends in order to improve App performance, stability, and the development of new features.

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and requests from competent authorities.

10. Age Assurance and In-App Parental Controls

Gela provides in-app mechanisms designed to help confirm that users meet our minimum age requirement and to give users and, where applicable, parents or guardians additional tools to manage account usage.

Age Assurance: during onboarding, users must affirmatively declare their date of birth or confirm they are 18 years of age or older. The App may apply additional risk-based checks where inconsistencies or reports suggest a user may not meet the minimum age requirement.

In-App Controls: Gela provides account-level settings that allow users to restrict certain content categories, manage direct-message permissions, and limit visibility of their profile and content to other users.

Reporting Tools: users and, where applicable, parents or guardians may report suspected underage accounts or inappropriate conduct through the in-app reporting feature or by contacting service@gela.live.

These settings can be accessed and adjusted at any time from the Settings section of the App.

11. Personalization and Content Recommendations

To help you discover relevant content and creators, we analyze certain usage signals to personalize your experience.

We use your viewing history, interactions (such as likes, comments, and follows), and engagement duration to rank and recommend content.

You may adjust certain personalization settings, including resetting your recommendation preferences, within the App's privacy settings.

Personalization is based on your activity within Gela and does not involve the use of facial data described in Section 6.

12. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

Gela and certain authorized partners use cookies, software development kit (SDK) identifiers, and similar tracking technologies to support App functionality, security, and analytics.

Session identifiers and local storage used to keep you logged in and remember your preferences between sessions.

Analytics identifiers used to understand aggregate usage trends and improve App stability and performance.

Advertising identifiers (where permitted by your device settings) used to measure the performance of promotional campaigns, if applicable.

You can manage tracking permissions through your device's privacy settings, including limiting ad tracking or resetting your advertising identifier.

13. Legal Bases for Processing (Applicable Jurisdictions)

Where required by applicable data protection laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process personal information on the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to provide the Services you have requested.

Consent, where you have affirmatively agreed to a specific processing activity, such as location access or promotional communications.

Legitimate interests, such as maintaining platform security, preventing fraud, and improving our Services, balanced against your privacy interests.

Compliance with a legal obligation, where processing is required under applicable law.

14. When and How We Share Your Information

Gela does not sell your personal information. We may, however, share information in the limited circumstances described below.

With your consent, such as when you choose to link a third-party account or participate in a co-hosted stream.

With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including cloud hosting, payment processing, customer support, and security services, under contractual confidentiality obligations.

For legal reasons, including to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Gela, our users, or the public.

In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to the protections described in this Policy.

To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including investigating suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

Publicly, where you choose to make content or profile information visible to other users through the App's social and streaming features.

15. Service Providers and Third-Party Processors

We engage carefully selected third-party service providers to help us operate the App. These providers are contractually obligated to use information only as instructed by us and to implement appropriate security measures.

Cloud infrastructure and content delivery providers used to host and stream App content.

Payment and billing processors used to facilitate in-app purchases and virtual gifting.

Customer support platforms used to manage and respond to user inquiries.

Security and anti-fraud vendors used to detect and prevent malicious activity.

As noted in Section 6, no third-party SDK is used to process facial data; the service providers listed in this section do not have access to facial data.

16. Cross-Border Data Transfers

As a global platform serving users in multiple countries and regions, Gela may store or process information in jurisdictions other than your own.

We implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required under laws such as the GDPR.

Data in transit and at rest is protected using industry-standard encryption protocols.

We limit access to transferred data to personnel and service providers who require it to perform their functions.

By using Gela, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in a country with data protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction.

17. Data Security Measures

We implement technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Encryption of sensitive data both in transit (using protocols such as TLS) and at rest.

Access controls that restrict data handling to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

Network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and continuous monitoring.

Regular internal security assessments and vulnerability testing.

Mandatory confidentiality and data-handling training for employees and contractors with access to user data.

While we work diligently to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to safeguard your login credentials.

18. Data Retention Policy

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Account and profile information is retained for as long as your account remains active.

Upon account deletion, we will initiate removal of your personal information within a commercially reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Facial data, as described in Section 6, is not retained under any circumstance, as it is processed transiently on-device and immediately discarded; only the resulting pass/fail verification status may be retained to indicate completion of real-person verification.

Transaction and billing records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, or financial regulations.

We may retain de-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be used to identify you for analytical and statistical purposes without time limitation.

19. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We are committed to honoring these rights for all users, regardless of location, to the extent operationally feasible.

Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

Restriction and Objection: request that we limit or object to certain processing activities, such as personalized recommendations.

Data Portability: request that certain information be provided to you in a structured, commonly used format.

Withdrawal of Consent: withdraw previously granted consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

You may exercise these rights through the in-app privacy settings or by contacting us at service@gela.live. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

20. Device-Level Permissions

Certain features of Gela rely on permissions granted through your device's operating system. You may manage these permissions at any time through your device settings.

Camera and microphone access, required for live streaming, video calls, and recording content.

Photo library access, required to upload images or videos from your device.

Location access, required only for location-based discovery features.

Push notification permissions, which you may disable at any time.

Disabling certain permissions may limit your ability to use specific features of the App.

21. Children's Privacy and Protection Against CSAE

Gela maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and is fully committed to protecting minors, even though the App is intended solely for users aged 18 and older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will promptly delete it and terminate the associated account.

Gela employs a combination of Age Assurance measures, automated detection systems, and human moderation to identify and remove content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors, and to identify accounts operated by or targeting minors.

We strictly prohibit any content depicting, promoting, or facilitating Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) anywhere on the platform. Any such content will be removed immediately upon detection.

Accounts found to be involved in CSAE-related activity will be permanently banned, and we will report such activity to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or other appropriate law enforcement and regulatory authorities, as required by applicable law.

Users can report suspected CSAE content or accounts directly through the in-app reporting tool or by emailing service@gela.live; all such reports are reviewed on a priority basis.

Parents or legal guardians who believe a minor has accessed Gela or that a minor's information has been collected may contact us at service@gela.live to request investigation and removal of the account and associated data.

22. User-Generated Content (UGC) and Content Management

Gela allows users to create and share User Content, including live streams, video clips, images, text, and audio. This section explains how such content is collected, used, and managed.

Collection: User Content is collected at the point of upload or live broadcast, together with associated metadata such as timestamps, device information, and, where enabled, location tags.

Storage: User Content is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers and is retained in accordance with our Data Retention Policy or until you delete the content or your account.

Use: User Content may be displayed to other users according to your privacy settings, used to enforce Community Guidelines, and, in de-identified or aggregated form, used to improve content ranking and recommendation systems.

Ownership and License: you retain ownership of the content you create, but by uploading content to Gela you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Services.

Moderation: all User Content is subject to review through a combination of automated systems and human moderators to detect violations of our Community Guidelines, including harmful, illegal, or exploitative material.

Copyright and Takedown: users must not upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. We respond to valid copyright infringement notices and may remove infringing content and, where appropriate, suspend repeat infringers.

Violation Consequences: content or accounts found to violate our Community Guidelines or this Policy may be subject to content removal, feature restrictions, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, or referral to law enforcement, as appropriate.

23. Content Moderation and Community Safety

To maintain a respectful and safe community, Gela actively moderates content and user conduct across the platform.

Automated systems scan uploaded and streamed content for indicators of policy violations, including harmful, illegal, or exploitative material.

Human moderators review flagged content and user reports to make final enforcement decisions.

Users may report content or accounts directly within the App; reports are reviewed in accordance with our internal safety response procedures.

We may cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities where required by law or where necessary to protect the safety of our users.

24. Third-Party Links and Integrated Content

The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or embedded content that are not owned or controlled by Gela.

Your interaction with any third-party website or service is governed by that third party's own privacy policy and terms, not this Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party service before providing your information or engaging with embedded content.

Gela is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of third-party websites or services.

25. International Users and Regional Compliance

Because Gela serves users across many countries and regions, we aim to comply with applicable data protection frameworks in the jurisdictions where our users reside, including but not limited to the GDPR (European Economic Area and United Kingdom) and the CCPA (California).

Where local law provides additional or different rights than those described in this Policy, we will honor the rights available to you under applicable local law.

Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority if they believe their rights have been violated.

California residents may exercise CCPA rights, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; as noted above, Gela does not sell personal information.

26. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the features of the App.

We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Policy whenever changes are made.

For material changes, we will provide notice through the App, by email, or through other reasonable means prior to the change taking effect.

Your continued use of Gela following the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Policy, you should discontinue use of the App and may request deletion of your account and associated data.
